Groundbreaking at Gamehaven Scout Reserve

Groundbreaking at Gamehaven Scout Reserve

What an honor!  I was asked to attend the groundbreaking for a new dining hall that Gamehaven Council will be building on the Scout Reserve.  All the bigwigs were there and it was fun to get my photo taken with the cool shiny shovel and other local Cub Scouts.  Too bad the sun was in my eyes!

Graduating to Webelo Scout

Webelos Badge

On May 19th, Pack 498 had it’s graduation ceremony at Oxbow Park in Rochester, MN.  Unfortunately, my mom got some awful pictures so you’ll have to take my word that I did indeed graduate to become a Webleo Scout.  I’ve heard that it’s a lot more work at this rank, but I’m looking forward to another fun year with my friends in Den 5!

Thanks From the Ronald McDonald House

Thank You Front

Thank You Inside

The Ronald McDonald House in Rochester, MN sent me a thank you for donating the gift cards on April 27th.  I’m sure they will put them to good use.

Putting the Pieces Together

2011 Thank You Letter

It is time to send out the thank you letters for all of my popcorn customers and it is quite a project.  I like to send them out after the annual Council banquet because then I know how I placed for popcorn sales.  It is nice to spread out my contacts over the year too because then maybe my customers will remember me when it comes time to buy popcorn in September again.  Thanks to everyone who supported me this last fall.  I do hope you will buy popcorn from me again.

Donating Gift Cards to Ronald McDonald House

When I received my Top Sales award from Gamehaven Council, they also gave me two $50 gift cards to donate to a non-profit organization in the 7-county area that Gamehaven serves.  It had to be an organization that helps kids.  I wanted the money to help kids who have cancer so I chose the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester.

The week of April 21-28 was Litter Bit Better week in Rochester.  My Pack #498 adopted Essex Park and spent some time working together as a team to pick up litter.  We also had our meeting there, which was a fun change of pace!
